10th Mountain Mushing
Squarespace Website for a Tourism Business
What they needed: a Colorado dogsledding adventure website!
Ethan rescued a bunch dogs from a kennel that was closing and built a humane dogsledding facility where he and the pups could live together, giving them space to roam, lots of love, and tons of enrichment. He’s a professional musher (the person who raises, trains, and guides the dogsledding team) and he needed a website to advertise their seasonal services where guests could book a tour, schedule a visit to the kennel, and make donations toward the pups.
Client: 10th Mountain Mushing | Industry: Adventure Tourism
What we did: a custom Squarespace website with tons of personality
We started from scratch with brand styling, selecting a color palette and fonts and a bit of image curation, then we built out the layout and content.
Ethan always prioritizes the dogs; their comfort and well-being is paramount at the kennel and in any adventure, so in addition to the usual pages, he had a vision of a Team page with individual dog bios for each pup, the real stars of the show (and quite possibly the cutest page to ever live on a website).
He also shares the unique local history of dogsledding on a sepia-toned History page made to look like it came straight out of the olden days.
To maximize UX and conversions, we strategically placed contact forms which will eventually become booking links, and internally linked buttons throughout the site for easy navigation and click-throughs.

Video Content and Animations
Since it’s a website for an adventure tourism business, we wanted to make this a super playful and fun site, including:
Pro video content and drone footage
Playful animated hover effects on buttons and dog images
Fixed scrolling image backgrounds
Custom dropdown bios for each dog to keep things clean
A few subtle scroll-based animations
What do I need to have prepared to build a website like this?
You may think you need to have all your ducks in a row before we start, but not to worry. Ethan came to me with some cute dog pics and some written content, but we came up with a lot of the details during the build. He’s still working on his booking software, so we created easy contact forms for now, and he didn’t have photos for all the dogs so we put in some funny pug placeholders and launched an MVP (minimum viable product) site with plenty of content, information, and fun bells and whistles to thrive. We can always roll things out in stages and build in more when it’s ready.
Some my very favorite feedback:
“Kessiah you are a f***ing g**d*** legend. The website is looking phenomenal!!! Oh my gosh, I love it so much. Honestly, the meet the dogs part looks so good.”
(This entrepreneur enthusiasm is what I live for.)
You’re so welcome, Ethan!!
