I’m used to being a one-woman show at work, so doing a collab with this lovely client and some other incredible freelancers was a total hoot!
What she needed:
Jinan was on a budget, so was already getting crafty DIY-ing her own Squarespace website. The usual trial period for a Squarespace website is two weeks, but as a Squarespace Circle Member, I started her off with a new 6-month site trial so she could take more time to learn the platform and play with design. We agreed that she would come back to me when she was ready for me to take a look and give things a design audit.
Then what happened!?
Then she got to work assembling puzzle pieces. Jinan had already hired out a graphic designer to develop her brand identity, so she came ready to go with a logo, color palette, some brand art, icons, and fonts. I can certainly string a sentence together, but for professional copywriting I sent her over to my go-to, Michelle Crumpler at Word Wrangler (highly recommend!), who strategized and mapped out all her main pages and populated them with expertly organized content, so all that was left for me to do was plug and play (and design a couple quick icons).

What we did:
Armed with Michelle’s comprehensive copy outline and a full color palette and brand art, I got to work weaving everything together into a functional Squarespace website. I layered her subtle line art over her background colors, designed an additional spiral icon which we rotated throughout the sections for variety, and did a logo recolor so her dark purple logo wouldn’t get lost in her dark purple background, and then pieced her content into carefully designed sections.

You know I love a custom mobile nav menu. Here it is pictured before with no styling and after with a touch of custom code to style it all up.
